Don’t freak out but Jonathan Majors, the breakout star of Lovecraft Country and The Last Black Man in San Francisco, has just been added to the cast of Marvel’s Ant-Man 3, as reported by The Wrap.
Ant-Man is one of the best franchises over at Marvel so this is a bigger deal than some will make it seem! Particularly exciting since this means the potential to see Majors on screen with stars Paul Rudd & Evangeline Lilly. The rumors state that Majors is expected to play super-villain Kang the Conqueror.
Personally, I love the idea of Majors playing a villain, especially a super one. It’ll really show a range we haven’t gotten to experience in full. We got glimpses of it in Lovecraft Country but I could definitely use some more of that!
Peyton Reed is returning to direct this third installment which is expected to begin shooting sometime towards the end of 2020 or the beginning of 2021. However, we have two other Marvel films that need to begin production first since they are releasing before it. Thor: Love & Thunder is expected to hit the big screens on February 2022, Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness in March 2022 and this installment of Ant-Man sometime after that in 2022.
We will, of course, continue to update you on all of this as it comes!
