With movie theaters still under mandates in certain states to stay closed, some film festivals decided to cancel their 2020 rounds and some festivals tried to explore different ways of keeping their periodic editions. The team behind Film Fest 919 decided to present a reimagined 2020 version of Film Fest 919 with a LIVE event, offering the best in pandemic viewing, using two outdoor venues: the newly-created Drive-in at Carraway Village and The Green at Southern Village.
Creating a safe, clean and healthy environment to adhere with CDC’s recommendation while giving the film lovers and movie goers a unique and exciting theatrical experience.
Film Fest 919 Founders Randi Emerman and Carol Marshall commented in their press release “In keeping with our tradition, this year’s program will feature a slate of films encompassing a diverse breadth of compelling selections for the area’s enthusiastic film-loving audience.”
With great passion, tremendous effort, and dedication they are sure to self-actualize this year’s slogan, which is “The Show Must Go On”!
Film Fest 919 started strong and continued on the same path in its second edition last year. The slate of films included in both editions were the most acclaimed movies from all around the globe and many of them were the main award seasons winners.
Film Fest 919 will open their 3rd edition on Wednesday, October 14, and continue with showings Wednesdays through Saturdays, closing on Saturday, October 31. “The festival will feature a slate of films encompassing a diverse breadth of compelling selections for the area’s enthusiastic film-loving audience.”
The full program line up will be announced in late September.
