About Minorities Report

MR was created as a place where people could find a number of diverse perspectives. A place for representation to thrive! A place for all. We all have valid perspectives… Colorful Perspectives. As our family grows our knowledge expands and our content becomes more diverse.

Why “Minorities” Report?

Many have commented on our name. Concerned about us labeling ourselves and, in-turn, alienating people that felt they weren’t welcome. This was a bit discouraging but we stuck to our instinct.

“Minorities Report” serves two purposes.

  1. A play on the title of a sci-fi thriller. Yup, that one.
  2. A name that shouted representation and diversity on our end.

We are Minorities who Report to all. Besides, we’re all minorities in someway. You just have to look hard enough and try not to miss it.

The Team

Raul

Born in Puerto Rico but raised in a combination of the island, Boston and upstate New York. This guy’s accent shifts depending on his mood, as does his sense of style. If you don’t understand him sometimes, don’t feel bad, neither do we.

Having studied film in Florida, with a focus on writing and directing, and having worked on many projects of all sizes and scope, Raul has a well rounded understanding of cinema. He is also a huge fan of American Football and believes Tom Brady to be the indisputable G.O.A.T.

Shama

Born and raised in Egypt, Shama adds a unique perspective and flavor to our team.

A member of the Egyptian Critics Association and Film Independent. Having worked on a number of international films, Shama brings incredible experience to our team. He is incredibly energetic and gets excited for all things Disney. A father of two beautiful girls and a husband to a Broadway buff. Trust us, there is no one you would rather go to theme parks with.

Dre

If you know her, now abandoned, nickname from the pod, thanks for being here this long!

Desiree is a DMV born and raised girl with an interesting perspective and a great eye for what’s in-between the lines. She has a background that is rich in art studies of all kinds so she looks at things through a different lens altogether!

She studied film long ago with Raul but quickly shifted her passion towards still photography and has been a professional photographer every since but has never lost her love for cinema. Check her work @ezer_photo on Instagram.
